Alex Hales smashed 60 of 24 balls when Nottinghamshire beat Worcestershire for 10 wickets to top the north group in a night of records at the Vitality Blast at Trent Bridge.

Hales reached his half-century with just 18 balls after hitting two sixes when Nottinghamshire, which had limited their opponents to just 20 for four in the six power play overs, reached the end of their power play and only needed two more runs to complete with 85 without winning loss.

The powerful opener won 24 in a single over against former Nottinghamshire weirdo Ish Sodhi and went four-four-six-four-six as a little over 3,500 viewers showed their appreciation.
