Three independent Malvern companies have won prestigious local lifestyle awards.
The 2021 Muddy Stiletto Awards winners for Worcestershire and Gloucestershire were announced on Thursday July 29th and Malvern is well represented.
This year has been unlike any other, which is why Muddy Stiletto’s Regional Editor Sophie Tweedale believes the awards are the perfect way to celebrate “the creativity, uniqueness and sheer perseverance” of rural businesses.
With over 75,000 nominated companies and three quarters of a million votes cast, the competition was tough.
Belle Beauty accepted the award for the best beauty salon and owner Lucy Watkins couldn’t be happier.
She said: “We are absolutely delighted and overjoyed. The past 18 months have been so tough for all companies, so winning such a great award is not only fabulous for the salon but also a recognition of the hard work of all of the staff. We love what we do and thank everyone who voted for us. ”
Malvern Spa manager Nikki Scoffin said staff are in party mode after being named the best day spa in the area.
Manager Nikki Scoffin said, “It’s no secret that the past year has been a difficult year for the hospitality industry, but our spa team really rose to the challenge and continued to provide exceptional customer service. This award is wonderful recognition for all of your hard work.
“Despite the challenges of the past year, our occupancy is fortunately very high at the moment and both new and returning guests enjoy all the spa offers. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support during this time and look forward to continuing to welcome people this summer and beyond. ”
The best photographer award went to Jim Collier and Kerri Auckland from Dearest Love Photography.
“It’s been an incredibly tough year for our customers and the wedding industry, so it’s a great feeling!
“Our couples got through the pandemic in really stressful circumstances and we managed to work together to postpone so many weddings for them.
“We really didn’t expect a win as we faced some really great photographers!”
