Latest figures show that the number of new Covid cases in Worcestershire continues to decline

The number of new coronavirus cases registered in the district has fallen by ten percent in the last week, according to the latest figures.

In the week ending August 4, a total of 1,397 cases were recorded in Worcestershire, up from 1,540 the previous week.

The number of cases in Worcester fell eight percent to 255 cases in one week and the number of cases in Malvern Hills fell six percent to 103.

Elsewhere in the county, Wychavon, which includes Evesham, Pershore and Droitwich, has recorded 299 cases, down seven percent from the previous week.

A total of 274 cases were recorded in Bromsgrove – a decrease of 12 percent – and cases in Wyre Forest fell 9 percent to 250.

Up to 274 cases were recorded in Redditch, where the numbers were down 11 percent compared to the previous week.
