All the Big Jubilee Lunches you can go to in Birmingham, the Black Country, Shropshire and Worcestershire

Big occasions including royal weddings and VE Day are a cause for celebration – and see a rise in street parties or celebrations. And the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next month is no exception.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend runs between Thursday, June 2, and Sunday, June 5. There’s local street parties, big organized events and beacon lightings planned to celebrate throughout the country – including many parts of the Midlands.

As part of the celebrations, more than 70,000 Big Jubilee Lunches are planned across the UK over the weekend – with an expected 10 million people set to sit down with their neighbors on June 5 to celebrate.

Big lunches take place in communities across the UK every year as people come together in celebration to share a tasty lunch. While, more than 8.5 million took part in the Big Jubilee Lunch for the Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

People can register their Big Jubilee Lunches online via the Eden Project Communities website – registering either public, or private events. It could be either sharing a cuppa with a neighbor on the doorstep, or a bigger bash in the street.

You can also sign up for a free pack through the website – full of ideas, inspiration, recipes and invitations. A number of public events will take place across Birmingham, the Black Country, Shropshire and Worcestershire.

  • Masefield Community Garden’s Big Lunch, in Northfield, between 11am and 3pm

Black Country

  • Cradley Heath community jubilee tea party, in Cradley Heath, between 11am and 1pm
  • St Matt’s Big Jubilee Picnic, in Walsall, between 1pm and 5pm
  • Jubilee Fun Day Celebration in Walsall Wood, between 11am and 4pm
  • Trysull and Seisdon Big Jubilee Lunch, near Wolverhampton, from 1pm
  • Together at Penn Fields Jubilee Lunch, in Wolverhampton, between 12pm and 2.30pm

Shropshire

  • Queen’s Jubilee Street Party in Madeley between 2pm and 5pm
  • The Build was Big Jubilee Lunch between 1pm and 4pm
  • The Big Jubilee Lunch in Newport between 12pm and 4pm

Worcestershire

  • Summerdyne Jubilee Party, in Bewdley, between 11am and 2pm
  • The Holt Heath Millennium Green Jubilee Picnic, near Ombersley, between 12pm and 5pm
  • Picnic in the Park for the whole community in Wychbold between 10am and 3pm
  • Big Jubilee Cathedral Community Lunch in Worcester, between 1pm and 3pm
  • Jubilee Picnic Lunch in Malvern between 12.15pm and 2.30pm
  • Platinum Jubilee Weekend Afternoon Tea in Pershore between 2pm and 6pm
  • Platinum Jubilee Street Party in Alcester between 1pm and 4pm
  • Redditch Town Center Jubilee Thank You Day between 11am and 5pm
