An ambitious line-up announced for this year’s Wychfest at Droitwich Rugby Club

DROITWICH Rugby Club has announced its line-up for a community festival to be held on August 28th and 29th.

Pop band The Hoosiers, who had hits in 2007 with ‘Goodbye Mr A’ and ‘Worried About Ray’, will lead Wychfest on Sunday evening with a tightly slimmed-down set and local favorites Skabucks will be kicking out their Ska and 2-Tone on Saturday night.

There will also be a host of emerging national talent, including Two Weeks In Nashville, Gathering of Strangers, and Junction 7, as well as comedy, food, and a range of family entertainments

All proceeds from the event will go to the Droitwich RFC community sports field to preserve the facilities for future generations.

Improved staging, lighting, and sound will create an electric vibe for night owls and it is hoped that it will build on last year’s sold-out, socially distant 500-seat event.

Festival organizer, Craig Browne of the club, said: “Wychfest has been a real success for Droitwich Rugby Club. This year’s line-up shows the club’s ambition to bring world-class entertainment to the city without losing our community roots and continuing to support local artists. ”
