‘Critical’ IT problem means parents can’t secure children’s school places online

PARENTS hoping to secure their child’s secondary school place online will have to wait after a “critical” IT problem.

Worcestershire Children First announced the issue meant parents would not be able to access their online accounts until March 2 (Wednesday).

In a tweet, the organization said: “Unfortunately, due to a critical IT issue, parents and carers will not be able to access their online accounts to see their child’s high school offer until Wednesday 2 March 2022.

“We are working hard with our IT partners to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

In a subsequent tweet, parents were told not to call or email for support as staff were unable to access their database.

The organisation, responsible for children’s services across Worcestershire, said the best option was to wait until the issue was resolved.

A follow-up tweet said: “Parents do not need to take any action and are advised not to call or email as unfortunately we will not be able to access our database to provide information on your offer.

“If you applied via post, you will receive your offer via post.

“Apologies for any inconvenience.”
