SIR – With the recent decision to allow the construction of apartments in the building next to Marrs Bar on Pierpoint Street, have we now begun the death of Worcester nightlife?
The retail shopping experience is as good as dead. With the go-ahead to convert potentially many empty buildings in the city center into accommodation, did we begin to end evening entertainment?
While we definitely need more houses and apartments, won’t there be an outcry of noise pollution from the new residents if they are in the city center?
Perhaps the solution could be that new downtown apartments should include a restriction in the contract that they have no right to complain about existing nightclubs, pubs or music venues?
