Road closure in Worcester due to “emergency” tree falls

A busy street in Worcester was closed today due to an “emergency” tree cutting.

Tolladine Road in Worcester has been closed by Worcestershire Highways and Travel due to “urgent” tree safety work on Rose Avenue.

Due to the work, the buses could not operate the usual route between Sheriff Street and Middle Hollow Drive.

Worcestershire Highways posted about the incident on Twitter. The tweet said, “Tolladine Road #Worcester is closed for urgent tree safety work on Rose Avenue.”

First Worcester issued a service update for the # 34 bus, stating that work is expected to continue until 3:30 p.m.

The Post stated: “Due to an emergency road closure on Tolladine Road, the bus stops between Sherriff Street and Middle Hollow Drive cannot be served.

“This is due to an emergency tree cutting near The Farmers Boy Inn bus stop. This is expected by 3:30 pm.”

Worcestershire County Council said the job is to remove dead elms.
