THERE are numerous lovely places to take your furry friends out for the weekend throughout Worcestershire.
Here are five of the best walks in Worcestershire for your dog to enjoy, with stunning scenery and plenty of room to run.
Malvern Hills walk
For the dogs with endless energy, the walk in the Malvern Hills is sure to keep them busy.
The route covers 3.8 miles and includes four peaks in the Malvern Hills.
Starting from the British Camp car park and driving up past the Malvern Hills Hotel, you and your four-legged companion will soon reach the gently sloping slopes of beautiful Black Hill, which stands at 1011 feet.
With stunning views and the dog-friendly Chase Inn at the end, this route is ideal for all types of dogs this year.
‘Paradise’ Valley Walk, Clifton on Teme
For the dogs that love water, the “Paradise” Valley Walk features plenty of rivers and streams to keep your pup excited.
The area has a network of well-marked riverside trails, woodland, and open spaces for dogs to explore.
It’s a valley hike, teeming with wildlife and scenic landscapes, taking you and your dog through lanes and undergrowth and over bridges.
There are several gates and stiles and a steep hillside or two to navigate to, so it’s perfect for the more agile dog and owners looking for a little more energetic excursion into the countryside.
Worcester Woods Country Park, Worcester
For small-legged dogs, Worcester Woods Country Park offers shorter routes for your four-legged friend’s adventures.
This walk is a good choice if you’re looking for a flat route in Worcestershire and it’s wheelchair accessible.
Worcester Woods Country Park even has a dog washing station to hose down your pets after exploring the woods.
The area also has some space for dogs to run around off leash.
Hartlebury Common
For the dogs that like to dig, the sandy terrain on Hartlebury Common is perfect.
There are some steep areas on this hike, so it’s not ideal for dogs or owners who struggle with it.
Most of the Hartlebury Common is suitable for off-leash walking, giving your dog a chance to roam freely and burn off his energy.
If you are visiting this area for your walk, there are three car parks available.
Evesham Country Park
For social dogs, Evesham Country Park usually has plenty of other off-leash dogs for your pup to greet.
The routes have a variety of orchards, open fields and riparian areas.
The park has a miniature steam train, so there are a few gates to go through to stay out of the way.
