Three Worcestershire restaurants that have won the Good Food Awards

A CITY restaurant was named the best in the country by the Good Food Awards.

Balti Mahal, on Astwood Road, was nominated for the award based on “exceptional” levels of food quality, customer ratings and hygiene ratings.

Mazedul Hassan Shakil, manager of the restaurant, said, “We are so grateful to our local community and our employees for helping us bring smiles to our dedicated customers. Together we will make history. ”

The restaurant has been a favorite with curry fans since it opened in 2011 and has been rated 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor.

He said: “In recognition of our efforts during the coronavirus lockdown, we have been nominated again as finalists for the Good Food Award and the Good Food Guide. We feel very honored and privileged to receive such recognition. ”

Mr Shakil asked locals to vote for the restaurant online.

He said, “We need your support to be the Good Food Award winner. Please cast your precious vote.”

The restaurant is nominated for the award alongside two others from the Worcestershire region.

The Queen Elizabeth Inn in Elmley Castle also has a 4.5-star rating on Tripadvisor and was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the comparison website in 2018.

The pub is known for its traditional British food.

Royal Spice, a South Indian restaurant in the heart of Worcestershire, is the third candidate from the county.

The house has a five-star rating on Tripadvisor, with one reviewer describing the food as “excellent”.
