Worcester’s Independence Day Celebration to include Ricky Duran performance, fireworks synchronized with music

Worcester residents can celebrate our nation’s independence with food, music and fireworks at the city’s Independence Day Celebration on June 30.

East Park, also known as Cristoforo Colombo Park, on Shrewsbury Street will open at 4 pm

Festivities will begin with a food court, along with activities for kids, at 4:30 pm

At 5 pm, local radio station 104.5 WXLO will provide entertainment until Ricky Duran starts his performance at 8:15 pm

Duran, a Grafton native, is known for his run on season 17 of “The Voice,” where he came in second place. He recently performed at Polar Park during the city’s Tercentennial celebrations.

The night will end with a bang with fireworks, synchronized to music, scheduled for 9:30 pm

If the event is rained out, July 1 is the designated rain date.
