Matthews & Goodman is recruiting partners to lead new Birmingham operations and other real estate news

A real estate consultancy has strengthened its senior team to open up new markets in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

Matthews & Goodman, with offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and London, has appointed Bev Robinson as partner to lead its new business in the area.

Ms. Robinson has a broad range of industry experience including subject matter appraisals, valuation surveys and real estate reception in areas such as retail, office and recreational real estate.

Prior to joining Matthews & Goodman, she was a member partner of Scanlans Consultant Surveyors and also worked for Henry Butcher Surveyors and the British Rail Property Board.

Matthews & Goodman was founded more than 150 years ago and currently employs nearly 100 people in four locations. A new office is to be opened in Birmingham in the near future.

She said: “Having worked in the Birmingham area for over 30 years, I am confident that together we will build a successful business by providing our clients with high quality professional advice backed by careful implementation.”

Partner James Routledge added, “The appointment of Bev marks an important milestone in the company’s history.

“Bev will add top-level skills and regional knowledge to our national assessment, as well as other professional teams, and will help fuel further growth in these areas.”

In other news on property appointments, Birmingham-based land developer Richborough Estates has taken three promotions.

Joe Jones has been promoted to Regional Manager for Midlands, covering an area that includes Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire, while Alanna Mahoney has been named Land and Planning Manager for the Western Division.

Briony Stenhouse, the new land and planning manager in the eastern division, completes the promotions.

SevenCapital, based in Birmingham, has hired Charlie Steele as the city’s new development manager.

The Chartered Surveyor will be responsible for advancing the company’s efforts in sourcing prime and central residential and mixed-use development opportunities in Birmingham.

He has over nine years of development experience in and around Birmingham, advising both public and private sector organizations including the West Midlands Combined Authority and Homes England.

The sister company SevenHomes has appointed Mary Beck as divisional manager.

In the newly created role, she will be responsible for driving business processes across location planning, design and procurement.

She joined the company from Taylor Wimpey, where she became Technical Director four years ago.

Chris Loizou has joined Living Space Housing, based in Solihull, as the new Land and Partnership Director, with a focus on securing residential areas across Central England.

The specialist in affordable housing was launched in 2019 and is currently building seven housing estates with a number of additional locations in the planning system.

Mr. Loizou comes from Tamworth Outfit Owl Homes, where he was also the Land and Partnership Director.

Principle Estate Management has hired business development specialist Stephanie Jobson.

She brings nine years of experience to the role and employs the Birmingham-based company with 35 employees just three years after it was founded.

In her new role, she will analyze business systems to improve customer experience, examine internal processes to optimize tasks for employees, and work with different teams to improve customer service performance.

Principle Estate Management has also hired Tom Tracy as the new Senior Property Manager for the Mainstay Group.

Residential and commercial property developer Godwin has hired Michael Jones as its new construction director.

Based in Birmingham, he will take on the company’s construction and development functions, working closely with a variety of outside real estate partners and consultants across the country.

As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, he has over 35 years of experience managing large construction and development projects in positions such as Harworth Estates and Castlemore Securities.

Birmingham-based developer Court Collaboration has hired Joe Oxford as its new construction director.

Together with Rider Levett Bucknall, he will be responsible for the pre-construction planning and development processes, as well as managing the Court Collaboration’s construction programs, overseeing quality, cost, delivery, and health and safety at every stage.

He is also a former National League rugby player.
