Minimum levels of service law for unions | Comment

Sir, The Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill that the government proposes to introduce in an attempt “to protect the public” lacks essential detail (“Lords could impose year’s delay on law to restrict walkouts”, news, Jan 11). It has failed to meet any of its own NHS targets for some years: the four-hour waiting time standard for A&E has not been met since July 2015, the 18-week waiting time for planned elective procedures has not been met since February 2016 and the 62-day waiting time for cancer treatment has not been met since 2013-14. All of these failures
