The festivals take place in Worcestershire this summer

Festival season is really beckoning and you don’t have to pinch yourself to know it’s really happening.

With Covid infection rates dropping, the vaccination program on track and the sun starting to shine again, the great days of outdoor entertainment and beautiful summer weather are within reach.

The Mello Festival in Hanley Swan takes place May 28-31. The headliners include Craig Charles Funk and the Social Club, Trevor Nelsons Soul Selection, The South, Odyssey and Paddy G in an exciting series. above.

Don’t forget the hidden valley near Bromyard and the Nozstock Festival, which runs from July 22nd to 25th.

The legendary Sister Sledge is part of a stimulating cast. Go sister ..! However, since the event is already sold out, you’ll need to join a waiting list and keep your fingers crossed.

Also close to home, the Sunshine Festival at Upton on Severn will brighten our darkened lives from Friday August 27th through August 29th at the Fish Meadow venue. Headliners include pure gold by Tony Hadley from Spandau’s Ballet and plaintive ballader James Blunt.

Are you spoiled for choice?

Head to Alex James’s Farm in the Cotswolds for the Big Feastival. It’ll pass in gleefully blur August 27-29, and headliners include Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Sigla, Nile Rogers and Chic.

The Ledbury Poetry Festival was canceled due to Covid in 2020. but it will happen this summer; and that, say the organizers, “is something to celebrate”.

The dates are set for July 2nd to 11th and it will also be a milestone as the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary.

But it will also be a “hybrid” event with some events taking place live and others taking place online.

And of course there will be another big celebration in the Ledbury area from August 12th to 15th when Lakefest arrives at Eastnor Castle.
