Traffic is set to be held later today at Deansway

TRAFFIC on a busy Worcester road is set to be held due to the memorial service for Her Majesty The Queen.

Worcestershire County Council has announced that traffic on Deansway will be held briefly before and after the Service of Thanksgiving at Worcester Cathedral.

This will be to allow the procession from the Guildhall to cross to and from the Cathedral.

The Service of Thanksgiving will pay tribute to the life of Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Before the service, the mayor of Worcester, Cllr Adrian Gregson, will lead a procession of dignitaries from the Guildhall to the cathedral.

The service at Worcester Cathedral will begin at 4pm, and was also live-streamed on the cathedral’s YouTube channel and Facebook Page.

The Cathedral advised those attending to “arrive in plenty of time” in a tweet posted on Sunday morning.

It was also tweeted that the service was “expecting large numbers” to attend.
